Deposit THIS QUARRY WAS OPENED IN 1900 AND ERATED FOR FELDSPAR AND OCCASIONAL GEM MINERALS-(BASTIN PG 5 CORDING TO CAMERON PG 57 CONSIDERABLE FELDSPAR MIGHT BE PROD FROM THIS PEGMATITE BY CAREFUL HAND SORTING, BUT IT IS DOUBTFUL LARGE QUANTITIES OF BERYL OR SHEET MICA COULD BE RECOVERED. REC/020 THE LAND WAS OWNED BY BERTHA AND THOMAS BERGERON,R.F 2,AUBURN,MAINE AS OF 1945 (CAMERON PG.56) CURRENT OWNER IS UN . THE MINE WAS MAPPED BY L.R. PAGE AND J.B EY IN MAY 1942-SEE REC. 701-702 PG. 56. REC/080 COLS 29-30 OTHER DONATES THAT THE WALL ROCKS OF THE ITES ARE COMMONLY TOURMALINIZED, ENRICHED IN MUSCOVITE, OR OT CHANGED BUT CONTACTS ARE USUALLY SHARP. QUARRY WAS OPERATED FOR FELDSPAR ONLY. NO TIN WAS PRODUCED. CASSITERITE MAY . POSSIBLY BE RECOVERED AS A BYPRODUCT. DATE OF COMMENTS 1975.
