Comments on the location information

  • Political location in record is Granite county. However, original lat/long plots 140 m inside adjacent Ravalli county. Original coordinates were: lat/long NAD27 46-38-2N 113-48-35W (46.6339 -113.8097, WGS84 46.63176 -113.8097); UTM N5168097 E284932 Z12N; PLSS line# 1: Meridian- Montana Principal, TWNSHP 010 N, RNG 018 W, Sect 12, Sect_fract SWSW. The PLSS coords indicate the lat/long should use WGS84 datum. So the lat/long was recalculated with WGS84, shifting the point 240 m N, which agrees with the county name and PLSS coords.
