Deposit THE SKAWINA SMELTER WAS CLOSED IN 1981, BECAUSE IT WAS INEFFICIENT AND EMITTED LARGE QUANTITIES OF ALUMINUM FLUORIDE. HOWEVER, THE PLANT CURRENTLY IS USED FOR RECYCLING ALUMINUM POWDER AND DROSS FOR THE KONIN SMELTER THE ORIGINAL CAPACITY WAS 50,000 TPY.
