Comments on the geologic information

  • WALL ROCK ALTERATION PREDOMINANTLY ALTERATION OF PERIDOTITES TO SERPENTINITES AND TALC-CARBONATES NEAR THE ORE ZONE. ORE LAYERS STRONGLY BRECCIATED AND CONTAIN PLENTY OF WALL ROCK INCLUSIONS. UNSPECIFIED METAMORPHIC ROCK TYPES ARE TALC-CARBONATE UNITS. 1ST ORE IS SOFT ORE (85 PCT OF ORE IN THE VIIA PIT) COMPRISED OF 60 PCT CHROMITE AND 40 PCT TALC-CARBONATE. 2ND ORE IS HARD ORE (15 PCT OF ORE IN THE VIIA PIT) COM- PRISED OF CHROMITE AND SERPENTINE. ORE TONNAGE FACTOR USED IN ANALYSIS WAS 3.45 MT/CU M. MAFIC-ULTRAMAFIC COMPLEX DESCRIBED IN L-REC IS GENERAL WHICH ALSO APPLIES TO Q-MATRICES 1/2 AND 1/3. COMPLEX IS A LAYERED (SILL-LIKE) PLUTONIC INTRUSION WITHIN THE CONTACT BETWEEN THE PUDASJARVI MIGMATITE GRANITE MASSIF AND THE KARELIAN SHIST AREA OF THE PERAPOHJA SHIST BELT.
