  • THE IRON ORE DEPOSIT CONSISTS OF DISCONTINOUS LAYERS OF HIGH-GRADE HEMATITE INTERCALATED WITH ITABIRITE. THE GENERAL STRUCTURE IS A FOLDED NORTHEASTWARD-TRENDING SYNCLINE, DIPPING 40 - 50 DEGREES. THE HEMATITE OF THE ANDRADE DEPOSITS IS MEDIUM TO FINE GRAINED, MAY BE EQUIGRANULAR, SCHISTOSE OR RODDED AND SHOWS GREAT VARIATION IN PHYSICAL PROPERTIES; IT MAY RANGE FROM HARD TO SOFT.
