Comments on the geologic information

  • THERE ARE TWO SYLVANITE BEDS, THE UPPER ONE BEING 0.8+0.1 M. THICK, CONTAINING AN AVERAGE OF 35% K2O, AND THE LOWER ONE 3.1+0.1 M. THICK, CONTAINING AN AVERAGE OF 18% K2O. THE TWO BANDS ARE SEPARATED BY A ROCK SALT BAND ABOUT TWO METERS THICK. THIS SALT BED SERVES AS A GOOD FLOOR FOR THE MINE, AND THE CARNALLITE SEAM ABOVE SERVES AS A CONSISTENT CIELING WHEN RESIN BOLTED.
