AS OF SEPT. 1989, GREEN BAUXITE AT 70,000 TPA WAS PRODUCED AT A PILOT PLANT AT THE MINE SITE. CONSTRUCTION OF THE 200,000 TPA CALCINING PLANT WAS BEGUN AUG. 1988; THE PLANT WAS AT THE FINE TUNING STAGE AS OF SEPT. 1989. LAT LONG REFLECTS THE PORT OF MUNGUBA, WHICH IS 60KM BY RAIL TO THE MINE.
