Comments on the production information

  • INITIAL WASH PLANT CON OF 24% SN (PRO-1) IS SENT TO PRO-2 WHICH IS THE TINSHED. THE TINSHED PRODUCES A HIGH GRADE (50- 60 % SN) CONCENTRATE WHICH IS SHIPPED, BY TRUCK, TO THE SMELTER. TIN INTL V67 #3, 6500-7000 MT OF SN IN CONCENTRATE DOWN FROM 12955 IN 1993 AND 15700 IN 1992. REDUCTION DUE TO LOW MKT PRICES

Comments on the reserve resource information

  • THIS IS THE LARGEST OPERATION WITHIN THE LARGEST BRAZILIAN TIN MINING COMPANY; AS OF 1986, BRAZIL WAS THE SECOND LARGEST TIN PR ODUCER IN THE WORLD. ACCORDING TO LITERATURE, POTENTIAL FOR 20,000 TPY SN METAL PRODUCTION WITH 575,000 T SN METAL RESERVES. ALSO, 60,000 T COL-TANTALITE RESERVES. 1993 PRODUCTION 12,955, 1992 PRODUCTION 15,700 (SN IN CONC)
  • ASSAY FOR 50% IS CONSIDERED THE SAME GRADE AS THAT AT 75%.
  • RESERVES SUFFICIENT FOR 20 YRS @ PRESENT PRODUCTION RATE. 1-89 RESERVES 368,000,000 MT PER CRU STUDY.

Comments on other economic factors

  • OPERATING AND CAPITAL COSTS FOR K1 ALSO INCLUDES THE COSTS FOR THE TINSHED (K2)
  • MINING IS PERFORMED USING BACKHOES AND FEEDING WASH PLANTS WHICH IS K-1 THE BACKHOES NUMBER FIVE WITH A CAPACITY OF 90 CUBIC METER PER HOUR EACH.
  • K2 IS THE TINSHED THAT SERVES TO UPGRADE THE INITIAL BENEFICIATION PLANT CONCENTRATES FROM ABOUT 20% TO OVER 60%
