Deposit THE RANCHI-PURULIA DEPOSIT IS A WIDESPREAD, LOW GRADE ACCUMULATION. IT IS UNLIKELY THAT IT WOULD BE MINED IN ITS PRESENT FORM. HIGHER GRADE ACCUMULATIONS WITHIN THE AREA WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO BE DEFINED BY ADDITIONAL EXPLORATION BEFORE DEVELOPMENT WOULD BE FEASIBLE; THE GRADE IS ABOUT 1/3 TO 1/2 THAT OF THE OTHER PLACERS EVALUATED. FOR THE PURPOSE OF ANALYSIS COSTS ARE ESTIMATED ON THE BASIS OF POSTULATED CAPACITY OF ABOUT 4 MILLION MT/YR AS FOLLOWS, IN JANUARY 1982 $US: CAPITAL COSTS: MINE, EQUIPMENT & PLANT- $16,925,000 BENEPLANT- $54,421,000 G&A- $29,310,000 ============ TOTAL CAPITAL $100,656,000 OPERATING COSTS, IN $/MT: $2.05 MINE + $4.35 MILL = $6.40 TOTAL THE OPERATING COSTS WERE REWORKED IN 1992 TO 1990 $US AS FOLLOWS, IN $/MT OF ORE: MINE- $3.84 MILL- $8.95 G&A- $0.58 CONC HAUL- $0.12 HOME OFFICE- $1.30 ====== TOTAL $14.79 BENEPLANT PRODUCTION, BASED ON 3,960,000 MTPY OF FEED, IS FORECAST AS FOLLOWS: MONAZITE: 70% RECOVERY, 92% CONC GRADE, 9,433 MTPY CONC.
