Deposit EXPLORATION OF THE GUINTALUMAN OREBODY INVOLVED A TOTAL OF 66 TEST PITS.A TOTAL OF 494 HOLES WERE DRILLED ON 100M CENTERS.THE MAX.DEPTH WAS 91M AND TOTAL CUMULATIVE DRILLING WAS 16,117M. PERIDOTITE IS THE MOST COMMON ROCK TYPE IN THE GUINTALUMAN DEPOSIT ISLAND. THE RIO TUBA MINE CONSISTS OF THREE SEPARATE DEPOSITS; GUINTALUMAN, MANGIDONG, AND WESTERN HIGHLAND. THE FOCUS OF MINING AT THE PRESENT TIME IS AT THE GUINTALUMAN, MANGIDONG, AND BUANJAO DEPOSITS. HOWEVER, WHEN GUINTALUMAN IS DEPLETED, MINING WILL MOVE TO THE WESTERN HIGHLAND DEPOSITS. THE Q-RESERVE DATA WAS DERIVED FROM DIMENSIONAL AND UNPUBLISHED DATA. AFTER THE ORE IS MILLED, IT IS TRUCKED 7.5KM. TO PIER STOCKYARDS.B1-MONTHLY, JAPANESE SHIPS FROM PACIFIC METALS CO. LTD. COME TO TRANSPORT THE ORE, WHICH IS BARGED 2KM. TO THE ORE CARRIERS FROM THE PIER, BACK TO JAPAN. 1986, 12 SHIPMENTS TOTALLING 441,000 WMT (309,000 DMT) AND UP TO 700,000 DMT (900,000 WMT) IN 1991. WERE SHIPPED TO JAPAN. CONSIDERABLY UNDER CAPACITY. CAPACITY IS 3,000 DMT/DAY OR 3,840 WMT/DAY.
