Deposit USGS PP 255,1954 INDICATED THAT THE LAND WAS OWNED DON PHILBROOK, GREENWOOD, ME. AND THE MINERAL RIGHTS WERE HELD JOINTLY BY WM. BRYANT, RUMFORD PT. ME. AND F. FOSTER, LYNN MASS. CURRENT OWNER IS UNDETERMINED. APPARENLY, TWO PEGMATITES OCCUR IN THE QUARRY AREA. GNEISS (COUNTRY ROCK) STRIKES NORTHWEST AND DIPS 78 DEG. NE. QUARRY, THE SE CONTACT BETWEEN ONE OF THE PEGMATITES AND WALL STRIKES N 80 E AND DIPS 58 DEG. S., THE DIP STEEPENING UPWARD TO THE SURFACE; THE NO. CONTACT, STRIKES N 65 W AND DIPS 82 DEG THIS PEGMATITE PROBABLY PINCHES EASTWARD AND FINGERS UPWARD THE END OF THE PIT. OTHER DONATES SHEETLIKE . WALLROCK ALTERATION CALLED "TOURMALINIZED RICHED IN MUSCOVITE, WITH CONTACTS OF THE PEGMATITE BEING SH REC/010 THE QUARRY WAS ORIGINALLY OPENED FOR QTZ. XLS. SOME WAS MINED IN 1943. NO TIN IS REPORTED MINED. CASSITERITE MIG ABLY BE PRODUCED AS A BYPRODUCT. DATE OF COMMENTS 1975.
