THE DOMAIN MAY NOW BE STATE OWNED AS RESULT OF A RECENT PROGRAM TO ACQUIRE LANDS AND DESIGNATE THE ENVIRONMENTAL ENHANCEMENT AREAS AND WATER RESOURCE SITES CAL E SOLDIERS DELIGHT STATE NATURAL ENVIRONMENTAL AREA FROM THE ERAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE BALTIMORE REGION SEPT 1972 PRE ED BY THE BALTIMORE COUNTY REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL A TELEP CONVERSATION WITH THE SAME PLANNING BOARD CONFIRMED THAT THE HAS PURCHASED LARGE TRACTS IN THE AREA FOR THE PURPOSE OF PR G ITS NATURAL FEATURES A FEW OF THE PLACER STREAMS DRAIN INT ERTY LAKE A RESERVOIR FOR THE BALTIMORE CITY AREA REC 010 COLS 18 41 CHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF CHROMITE AS GIVEN IN 6 USGS BUL 1082K CR2O3 41.5% AL203 7.7% FEO 17.6% MGO 17.9% CAO .6% T102 .09% S102 8.8% H20 3.7% C02 1.4% THE CR FE IS 2 :1. REC 080 COLS 17 18 THE ORE BODY SEEMS TO BE A THIN VEINLIKE ASSIVE IN THE CENTER AND DISSEMINATED NEAR THE MARGINS. REC 080 COLS. 53-58,63-68 WHERE MINED THE LENS WAS PROBABLY 1 AND 2 FT WIDE AND AT LEAST 40 FT LONG ITS EXTENSION DOWNDI IS UNKNOWN SAMPLE ANALYSIS AS GIVEN IN USGS BULL 1082K TABLE 6 DOES NOT MEET CURRENT GSA SPECS FOR DETERMINING TYPE GRADE IN GENERAL. HOWEVER PA AND MD ORES WERE MOST EXTENSIVELY USED BY CHEMICAL INDUSTRY. DATE OF COMMENTS 1975.
