Comments on the location information

  • County name is Silver Bow. However, original lat/long plots in Rivalli county. Original coordinates were: lat/long NAD27 45-49-27N 113-57-22W (45.8242 -113.9561); UTM N5078543 E270373 Z12N; PLSS line# 1: Meridian- Montana Principal, TWNSHP 001 N, RNG 011 W, Sect 22, Sect_fract <blank>. The PLSS coordinates translate to 45 49N 112 57W. This falls exactly 1 degree to the east, in Silver Bow county. The site name provides further evidence, Johnson Creek in Silver Bow county empties into the Wise River. The reporter likely mistyped the longitude so it was decreased by 1 degree to 112.
