  • LAT/LONG GIVEN IS ESTIMATED LOCATION FOR PESCA AND CONEJERA DEPOSITS. EVALUATION IS FOR BOTH DEPOSITS; BOTH LOCATED APPROX. 95 KILOMETERS NE OF TUNJA, COLUMBIA, IN THE DEPT. OF BOYACA, IN EASTERN SECTION OF THE EASTERN CORDILLERA OF THE ANDES. THE PESCA OPERATION REPRESENTS TWO DEPOSITS; PESCA AND CONEJERA. PESCA IS SHEDULED TO BE MINED FIRST, WITH CONJERA TO COME ON-LINE AT A LATER DATE. THE FUTURE STATUS OF THE OPERATION DEPENDS ON THE OUTCOME OF TENDER OFFERS REQUESTED FROM THE GOVERNMENT. AS OF 1987, NONE HAD BEEN RECEIVED. DURING THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS, SMALL AMOUNTS OF PHOSPHATE HAVE BEEN PRODUCED FOR DIRECT APPLICATION FERTILIZER.
