Comments on the geologic information

  • THIS PILLOW LAVA COMPLEX BELONGS TO THE TROODOS MASSIF, WHICH IS COMPOSED OF MAINLY VOLCANIC AND INTRUSIVE IGNEOUS ROCK SEQUENCES FROMED DURING THE ALPINE OROGEY. THE PYRITE/COPPER/ZINC MINERALIZATION OCCURS BETWEEN TWO PILLOW LAVAS. THE MINERALIZATION IS A RESULT OF HYDROTHERMAL REPLACEMENT BY ORE-BEARING FLUIDS OF THE LOWER PILLOW LAVA (OLIVINE BASALT).

Comments on the production information

  • YIELD DATA IS FOR REPORTED/KNOWN PRODUCTS FROM THE VASILIKOS PLANT. IT IS NOT KNOWN IF COPPER AND/OR ZINC ARE STILL RECOVERED.
  • PRODUCT DATA IS FOR THE KAMPIA MINES/STOCKPILES ONLY. THE CAPACITY IS FEED ORE FROM THESE SOURCES. THE OUTPUT IS THE ESTIMATED PYRITE CONCENTRATE PRODUCTION FROM THIS ORE. THIS DATA WAS USED IN THE PROPERTY EVALUATION. PRODUCT DATA TABLES PBPCPD ARE FOR OTHER POSSIBLE PRODUCTS FROM THE VASILIKOS PLANT.

Comments on the reserve resource information

  • THIS RESOURCE REPRESENTS THE ESTIMATED INSITU ORE TONNAGE REMAINING IN ALL THREE DEPOSITS. COPPER AND ZINC GRADES ARE UNKNOWN. ONLY THE PYRTE WAS USED IN THE PROPERTY EVALUATION.
  • SOMETIMES LISTED AS "KAMBIA". THE PYRITE ORE FROM MINES AND STOCKPILES IN THE AREA IS TRUCKED TO THE VASILIKOS TREATMENT PLANT AT VASILIKOS, CYPRUS FOR UPGRADEING TO A HIGHER GRADE SULFUR CONTENT OF THE PYRITE CONCENTRATE.

General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit KAMPIA ALSO SPELLED "KAMBIA", IS THE AREA NAME FOR A GROUP OF DEPOSITS; KAPEDHES, PERISTERKA, AND PITAROKHOMA, LOCATED WITH IN 5 KM OF THE TOWN OF KAMPIA. IT IS NOT CLEAR WHICH, IF ANY OF THESE DEPOSITS IS IN OPERATION. THE KAPEDHES AND PERISTERKA ARE SUPPOSEDLY EXHAUSTED. THAT LEAVES THE PITAROKHOMA AS THE ACTIVE DEPOSIT.
