Comments on the geologic information

  • IN THE GUANGDONG PROVINCE THE CONCENTRATION OF MINERALS CONTAINING TITANIUM IS TYPICALLY ABOUT 35 KG/CU METER OF SAND. GIVEN THAT A CU. METER OF SAND WEIGHS ABOUT 1500 KG THE SAND CONTAINS ROUGHLY 2.3% TITANIUM MINERALS BY WEIGHT-

Comments on other economic factors

  • THE DISTANCES TO THE CONCENTRATOR FROM THE MINING SITE VARIES AS THERE ARE VARIOUS SITES. 10 KM WAS TAKEN AS TO BE AN AVERAGE AS SOME MINING SITES ARE VERY CLOSE TO THE CON- CENTRATOR AND SOME ARE AS FAR AS 50KM AWAY. MOST OF THE CONCENTRATE GOES TO ZHANJIANG TO BE SHIPPED TO PIGMENT PLANTS THROUGHOUT CHINA. HOWEVER, SOME OF THE CONCENTRATE ( THAT WHICH GRADES 50% T102 ) IS SOLD FOB AND SOME IS TRANSFERRED TO RAIL BOUND FOR PIGMENT PLANTS.
  • BEFORE THE SAND IS TRANFERRED TO THE PLANT, IT IS RAN THROUGH A WOODEN SLUICE TO SEPARATE THE HEAVY AND LIGHT FRACTIONS AFTER BEING MINED. THE GUANGDONG PROCESSING PLANTS VARY IN SIZE, BUT ON AVERAGE HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO PRODUCE ILMENITE CONCENTRATE AT THE RATE OF 15,000 MT/YR GRADING 52% T102. THESE PLANTS HAVE THE ABILITY TO RECOVER SMALL QUANTITIES OF ZIRCON, MONAZITE, AND RUTILE AS WELL AS ILMENITE. AVERAGE ANNUAL PRODUCTION FROM A MILL IS 15,000 MT/YR ILMENITE 600 MT/YR ZIRCON, 75 MT/YR MONAZITE AND 50 MT/YR RUTILE THE K TABLE LISTS THE CUMULATIVE CAPACITY OF ALL FIVE PLANTS ON THE GUANGDONG MAINLAND.
  • ONE TOTAL FEED TO THE GUANGDONG PLANTS IS GIVEN (20280 MT ORE/DAY)
