BAUXITE FROM THE DISTRICT HAS BEEN MINED FOR ALUMINUM BUT SINCE 1945 ALL ORE IS USED IN REFRACTORY PRODUCTS AND IN THE MANUFACTURE OF CHEMICALS. PURPOSE OF REVIEW WAS TO CORRECT TRANSLATION ERRORS, NOT TO UPDATE INFORMATION. REVIEWED BY EFOC, JAN., 1979. ALL INFORMATION CONCERNING THIS DEPOSIT PROVIDED BY THE ALABAMA GEOLOGIC SURVEY.
