  • PRODUCTION PRIOR TO 1956: 1,154 OZ. OF GOLD AND 338 OZ. OF SILVER (USBMAFOC FILES). WORKINGS: THE USUAL METHOD (FOR 1916) OF GROUND SLUICING AND SHOVELING-IN. SOME OPERATORS USED BEDROCK DRAINS. KLK USED D-8 DOZER, STACKER, SHAKER SCREEN AND SLUICE PLATE IN 1975 OPERATION (CARNES,1975 & B687). BEDROCK IS COMPRISED OF QUARTZITE SCHISTS, GREENSTONE SCHISTS, AND GARNETIFEROUS MICA SCHISTS WITH MANY QTZ SEAMS AND LENSES. GRAVELS ARE COARSE WITH MANY BOULDERS. GOLD IS MOSTLY ON BEDROCK WITH MANY NUGGETS, THE LARGEST VALUED AT $365,00 (P70). ADDRESS FOR KLK INC: STAR ROUTE BOX 145 PALMER, AK 99645.
