Comments on the production information

  • THE FINAL PRODUCT OF THE MILL IS APPROXIMATELY 20-PERCENT WET. PHOSPHATE ROCK. AT PORT MANATEE, WHERE THE MILL OUTPUT GOES, THE CONCENTRATE IS DRIED DOWN TO 9.4 PERCENT.
  • ACTUALLY, THE ESTIMATED PERCENT RECOVERY FOR P205 IS NOT 84, BUT 84.3.
  • ON JAN. 29, 1987, THE PROPERTY WAS SHUT DOWN, TEMPORARILY, BUT WILL REMAIN INACTIVE THROUGH 1987--POSSIBLY AN INDEFINITE SHUTDOWN.

General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit THE SIZE OF THE MINE OPERATION, THE MINE LIFE, AND THE MINING METHOD HAVE CONSIDERABLY CHANGED SINCE THE TIME THE PROPERTY WAS FIRST EVALUATED (1979). WINGATE CREEK MINE IS THE ONLY OPERATION (IN CENTRAL FLORIDA) WHERE DREDGES ARE USED INSTEAD OF DRAGLINES. OPERATING COSTS AT ZERO AND 67-PERCENT CAPACITIES: MINE, $1.81/MT ORE AT 67-PERCENT AND $861,000 PER YEAR AT ZERO CAPACITY. BENEFICIATION, $1.74/MT ORE AT 67-PERCENT AND $1,028,000 PER YEAR AT ZERO CAPACITY.
