| Deposit | THE GASPE SMELTER HAS AN ANNUAL FEED CAPACITY OF 317,450 MTPY OF ORES AND CONCENTRATES FED TO 1 REVERBRATORY FURNACE, 1 ROASTER, 1 ANODE FURNACE AND TWO CONVERTERS TO PRODUCE 72,590 MTPY OF COPPER ANODES. GASPE HAS A SULPHURIC ACID PLANT WHICH CAN PRODUCE 199,620 MTPY OF H2SO4. IN 1978, THE GASPE SMELTER PRODUCED 50,724 MT OF COPPER MINE AND 58,981 MT OF CONC. FEED SMELTED ON A CUSTOM BASIS FROM OTHER MINES. ALL ANODE PRODUCED AT GASPE IS REFINED AT THE CANADIAN COPPER REFINERS REFINERY AT MONTREAL EAST, QUEBEC. |
