Comments on the production information

  • THE CONCENTRATOR STARTED UP IN 1937, AND IT WAS MODERNISED IN 1982. COPPER ORE AND COPPER-ZINC ORE ARE TREATED SEPARATELY. FOR BOTH ORE TYPES, TWO STAGE CRUSHING AND SCREENING IS FOLLOWED BY TWO STAGE GRINDING AND CLASSIFICATION. A MORE COMPLEX CIRCUIT IS USED TO TREAT COPPER-ZINC ORES. COPPER IS SELECTIVELY FLOATED FROM THE RE-GROUND BULK CONCENTRATE. ZINC IS SELECTIVELY FLOATED FROM THE COPPER TAILS. THE ZINC CONCENTRATE GOES THROUGH FIVE STAGES OF CLEANING AND THE COPPER CONCENTRATE THROUGH TWO STAGES. ALL CONCENTRATES ARE FILTERED. TAILINGS ARE PUMPED TO A DAM 3 KILOMETERS FROM THE PLANT. IN 1989, THE COST OF MILLING ONE METRIC TON OF ORE WAS R7.02.

Comments on the reserve resource information

  • ADIT DATA IN CCPUTS FOR COPPER IS THE CONTAINED CU IN THE CONCENTRATE: THE CCPUTS DATA FOR ZINC IS THE METAL CONTENT OF THE ORE. THE ADIT CAP FIELD WAS FIXED TO GET THE CORRECT DATA IN THE CCPUTS DATA FIELD. THE CONTAINED CU AND ZN VALUES CAME FROM A COMOD SPEC. 1997 REOPRT OF THE RUSSIA MINING INDUSATRY AS OF 1995.

Comments on other economic factors

  • IN 1990, COPPER-ZINC ORE, 63 PERCENT OF THROUGHPUT, WAS SUPPLIED BY THE DEGTJAR MINE. COPPER ORE, 37 PERCENT OF THROUGHPUT, WAS SUPPLIED BY THE GAI MINE. ALL COPPER CONCENTRATE IS DELIVERED TO THE SREDNEURALSK COPPER SMELTER. ZINC CONCENTRATE IS DELIVERED PRINCIPALLY TO THE CHELIABINSK ZINC SMELTER.
