  • AS OF 1990, ALL BULK CONCENTRATE IS SHIPPED TO COPSA MICA FOR SMELTING AND REFINING.
  • FOR YEARS 1984-1986, THE MINE PRODUCED APPROXIMATELY 750,000 METRIC TONS OF ORE THROUGHPUT. FOR YEARS 1987-1990, THE ORE THROUGHPUT WAS ESTIMATED TO BE APPROXIMATELY 1,000,000 METRIC TONS. THE AVERAGE HEAD GRADE FOR THE ORE WAS .20%-.30% LEAD AND .40%-.60% ZINC. BULK LEAD/ZINC CONCENTRATE PRODUCTION FOR YEARS 1984-1986 WAS ESTIMATED TO BE 7,000 METRIC TONS WHILE YEARS 1987-1990 PRODUCED AN ESTIMATED 10,000 METRIC TONS. PYRITE CONCENTRATE WAS ESTIMATED TO BE 75,000 METRIC TONS PER YEAR FOR YEARS 1984-1986 AND 100,000 METRIC TONS PER YEAR FOR YEARS 1987-1990. THE AVERAGE GRADE FOR THE BULK CONCENTRATE IN 1990 AVERAGED 12%-14% LEAD, 30%-33% ZINC, AND 1%-1.5% COPPER. AS OF 1990, THE CORANDA CERTEJ MINE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR APPROXIMATELY .58% LEAD AND .99% ZINC PRODUCTION FOR ALL EASTERN EUROPEAN MINING PRODUCTIONS. ALL PRODUCTION COMPLETED AT THE CORANDA CERTEJ MINE AS OF 1990 WAS 80% FROM OPEN PIT MINING AND 20% FROM COMBINED UNDERGROUND METHODS.
