General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit TOTAL INFERRED RESERVES ARE ESTIMATED TO BE 23 MILLION METRIC TONS WITH A GRADE OF 2.0 GRAMS PER TON OF GOLD. THE PROPOSED MOKROSKO MINE WOULD BE AN OPEN PIT WITH A STRIPPING RATIO OF 1.5:1. A FEASIBILITY STUDY HAS SHOWN THAT SINCE A MINIMUM GOLD PRICE OF $400.00 PER OUNCE IS REQUIRED IN ORDER FOR THE MOKROSKO MINING PROJECT TO BREAK EVEN, THE PRICE OF GOLD FOR THE YEAR 1990 IS A DETERRENT TO INVESTMENT. THERE IS ALSO LOCAL OPPOSITION TO THE PROPOSED MINE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL REASONS. THE DEPOSIT IS CLOSE TO THE RIVER "VITAVA", WHICH IS ABOUT 60 KILOMETERS SOUTH OF PRAGUE, IN AN ATTRACTIVE AREA WITH MANY VACATION HOMES.
