Deposit THIN BEDS OF MN OXIDES ALTERNATE WITH FINE LAYERS OF QUAR THESE INTERCALATIONS MAKE UP 25 TO 30% OF THE TOTAL THICKNES E ORE BED, THE GREATER PART OF THE ORE IS PSILOMELANE AND BR GRADES ON MATRIX SHEET ARE THE AVERAGE ANALYSIS FOR 1953, R FOR 30M OF DEPTH DOWN DIP IS ESTIMATED AT NEARLY 1.08 MILLIO PREVIOUSLY, MINING WAS OPEN PIT AND PARTLY UNDERGROUND. NOW MINING IS ENTIRELY UNDERGROUND. RESERVES AND RESOURCES OF INDIA HAVE NOT BEEN ADEQUATELY DEFENED. THE ONLY AVAILABLE DATA ON INDIVIDUAL MINE RESERVES REPRESENTS EXPOSED MATERIAL IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY OF THE OPERATING MINES, AND THUS IS INSIGNIFICANT. THE RESOURCES ASSIGNED TO INDIA (63 MT) REPRESENT ESTIMATES BASED ON GEOLOGIC INFERENCE OVER BROAD AREAS. THESE RESOURCES ARE ARBITRARILY ASSIGNED TO THE MAHARASHTRA-MADHYA PRADESH AREA (33 MT) AND THE KEONJHAR AREA (30 MT); THESE AREAS ACCOUNT FOR NEARLY 90% OF THE HIGH GRADE ORE PRODUCTION (MOST OF THIS IS FROM THE MAHARASHTRA-MADHYA PRADESH AREA). FURTHER, RESERVES ARE NOT CATEGORIZED BY GRADE; PROBABLY LESS THAN HALF COULD BE UTILIZED IN THE PRODUCTION OF FEMN.
