  • CLASSIFIED AS A SEDIMENTARY ROCK HOSTED DISSEMINATED GOLD DEPOSIT, SIMILAR TO CARLIN TYPE DEPOSITS OF NEVADA. AS SUCH THE DEPOSITS WERE CREATED BY DEEP PERCOLATING METEORIC WATER, WHICH DEPOSITED DISSOLVED METALS IN A SHALLOW EPITHERMAL ENVIRONMENT. DEPOSITION OF THIS TYPE IS BELIEVED TO BE CAUSED BY THE PRESENCE OF DISSEMINATED ORGANIC CARBON IN THE HOST ROCK. ELEMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS TYPE OF DEPOSIT ARE ARSENIC, ANTIMONY, MERCURY AND THALLIUM. HIGH GOLD/SILVER RATIOS ARE TYPICAL. THE PRESENTLY KNOWN DEPOSITS OF THIS TYPE IN GUIZHOU (YATA, GETANG, SANCHAHE, BANQI AND CEYANG) ARE ESTIMATED TO CONTAIN BETWEEN 5 AND 10 METRIC TONS OF GOLD EACH, WITH GRADES OF 4-5 G/MT AT A CUT-OFF GRADE OF 1 G/MT.
