General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit THE BISHOP, GLOUCHESTER, AND PALING MINES WERE OPERATED AS A UNIT, SO-NAMED "SOUTHERN FARMS", AND GENERALLY FED A COMMON MILL. THE ORE WAS LOW GRADE AND WAS USED MAINLY FOR BLENDING WITH HIGH GRADE ORES. THE MINES WERE SHUT DOWN IN 1983, AND PROBABLY WILL NOT BE REOPENED IN THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE. THE ERRATIC NATURE OF ORE OCCURENCE PRECLUDES ANY RELIABLE RESOURCE ESTIMATE. TOTAL CAPACITY OF THE THREE MINES WAS ABOUT 550,000T/YR PRODUCT.
