  • DIAMOND DRILLING ENCOUNTERED HIGH-GRADE PARALLEL MINERALIZED ZONES AT THE GOLD DEPOSIT. MACDONALD DRILLED 15 HOLES IN 1994 TO TEST ZONES PREVIOUSLY IDENTIFIED BY CUBAN SURFACE WORK AND DRILLING. SURFACE SAMPLING RESULTS INCLUDE 0.17 OZ GOLD OVER 17.1 FT, AND 0.42 OZ OVER 8.5 FT. THE HOLES YIELDED INTERSECTIONS AT VERTICAL DEPTHS RANGING FROM 200-600 FT, INCLUDING INTERSECTIONS OF 0.98 OZ GOLD/TON OVER 6.9 FT; 1.62 OZ OVER 4.1 FT, AND 0.47 OZ OVER 10.7 FT. THE GOLD MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN A REGIONALLY EXTENSIVE FAULT ZONE WHICH CUTS CHLORITIZED MAFIC VOLCANIC ROCKS. AN INDUCED-POLARIZATION SURVEY IN UNDERWAY TO HELP DETERMINE THE STRIKE LENGTH OF THE MINERALIZED ZONES BEYOND THE FLORENCIA SECTOR, IN THE SURROUNDING FLORENCIA-JOBABO REGION.
