Comments on the reserve resource information

  • Q-MAT 1 TONNAGE IS ESTIMATED SURFACE MINEABLE TONNAGE TO A VERTICAL DEPTH OF 50 METERS ALONG THE ENTIRE 4 KM LIMOEIRA TREND. OVERALL STRIP RATIO FOR THIS TONNAGE WOULD BE ABOUT 11:1 WASTE TO ORE. THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL TONNAGE OF ORE THAT COULD BE MINED BY UNDERGROUND METHODS BUT UNKNOWNS HAVE PREVENTED SUCH AN ESTIMATE BEING MADE. M1C2 = M9C4. INSITU TONNAGE AS OF 1/89. SURFACE MINEABLE TO VERT.DEPTH OF 50 M AT 15/1 WASTE TO ORE RATIO. MINING RECOVERY=100 %. 310,000 MTPY ROM AT 17.0 %CR2O3 FOR: 21,600 MTPY LUMP & GRAINS AT 40-41 %CR2O3 AND 68,400 MTPY CONCS. AT 46.0 %CR2O3.

Deposit CRUDE ORE RESERVES TOTAL SOME 4 MILLION S.T., WHICH IS 1,150,000 S.T. IN TERMS OF CONCENTRATES. THIS SHOULD ALLOW A MINE LIFE OF 10 YEARS AT AN ANNUAL PRODUCTION RATE OF 100,000 S.T. OF CONCENTRATES PER YEAR. THE CONCENTRATION PLANT WAS COMPLETED IN AUGUST 1976 AND STARTED FULL SCALE PRODUCTION IN DECEMBER 1976. TO INCREASE ACTUAL RECOVERY, GRAVITY CONCENTRATION EQUIPMENT WAS INTRODUCED. PRODUCTION COST WAS $65-$66 BY END OF 1976 AMOUNT OF THE LOAN FOR THE PROSPECTING AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE MINE WAS $7,023,000 ($1,873,000 FOR EXPLORATION AND $5,150.000 FOR DEVELOPMENT AND CAPITAL COSTS.) CRUDE ORE MINED IN 1977 TOTALLED 355,000 S.T. THE ORE BODY IS ALTERED BY SERPEUTINIZATION.
