  • THE DIZON MINE IS LOCATED APPROX. 80 KM NORTHWEST OF MANILLA. THE MINE CAN BE REACHED BY ROAD OR LIGHT PLANE. IN SEPTEMBER 1975, BENGUET CONSOLIDATED, INC. ACQUIRED THE PROPERTY FROM DIZON COPPER-GOLD MINES, INC. WATER FOR INDUSTRIAL USE IS RETURNED TO THE PLANT FROM THE TAILINGS POND. BENQUET HAS CONSTRUCTED 280 HOUSING UNITS FOR ITS EMPLOYEES.

  • BASEMENT ROCKS IN THE AREA ARE COMPOSED OF DACITIC TO ANDESITIC VOLCANIC FLOWS, TUFF, AND YOUNGER PYROCLASTICS BECAUSE OF LACK OF INFORMATION DIMENSIONS OF ORE-BODY ARE NOT KNOWN. ORE TREATED SHOW A SILVER GRADE OF 1.3 G/T. MINERALIZATION IS MOST FREQUENTLY CONTAINED IN INTENSELY ALTERED LITHIC TUFF, ANDESITE, AND DACITE FLOWS.
