General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit ACCORDING TO A PRIVATE SOURCE, IN 1987 CIA NIQUEL TOCANTINS (CNT) PLANNED TO PRODUCE 42000 TONNES/YEAR OF BYPRODUCT MAGNESIUM OXIDE. HOWEVER, NO MENTION IS MADE IN 1991. CNT PLANNED AN UPGRADE TO 300-500 TONNES/YEAR OF NICKEL METAL PRODUCTION IN ORDER TO MEET DOMESTIC NEEDS. IT HAS ALSO PLANNED AN UPGRADE IN COBALT PRODUCTION ACCORDING TO A 1990 SOURCE. TOCANTINS UTILIZES OIL, ELECTRICITY, AND COAL IN ORDER TO MAXIMIZE COST EFFECTIVENESS.
