| Deposit | MINE CONSISTS OF 5 MAJOR ADITS DRIVEN INTO A NEAR VERTICAL FAULT ZONE THAT TRENDS N 38 W, MORE THAN 1,000 FT OF DRIFTING INCLUDING WINZES AND RAISES BETWEEN SOME LEVELS. THE FAULT ZONE/VEIN IS 5-25 FT THICK AND CAN BE TRACED INTERMITTENTLY FOR OVER 16,500 FT. THE VEIN IS A MASSIVE QUARTZ-SILICA AND CALCITE VEIN THAT HAS BOTH STOCKWORK-TYPE MINERALIZATION AND SHEETING, WITH COMMON GOUGE. HOST ROCK IS LIMESTONE AND SHALE ADJACENT TO AND INTERMIXED WITH VOLCANIC ROCK. THE MINE HAD INTERMITTENT PRODUCTION BETWEEN 1941-1982 YIELDING 11 OZ GOLD, 2,662 OZ SILVER, AND 73 LB COPPER; ALSO 700 TO 800 SHORT TONS OF SILICA FLUX WAS SHIPPED TO A SMELTER IN DOUGLAS DURING 1973 AND 1974. OVERALL PRECIOUS METAL CONTENT OF VEIN IS SUBECONOMIC. SILICA FLUX RESOURCES ARE ESTIMATED TO BE BETWEEN 313,000 AND 8,890,000 SHORT TONS. |
