| Deposit | RECORDS 800-818 OF 1976 ENTRY BULL 940-J - COBALT INFORMATION BULL 23 - GENERAL INFO. FOR ALL RECORDS. RECORD 040/ SHAFT LOCATED ALONG ROAD AT BOTTOM OF A STREAM ELECTRICITY MIGHT BE SUPPLIED FROM WARM SPRINGS (4.5 MI.) OR MITCHELLTOWN ( 6 MI.). PROPERTY IS WITHIN GEORGE WASHINGTON NATIONAL FOREST. RECORD 050/ 20 CARLOADS OF ORE WERE SHIPPED IN 1918 AND ONE SHIPPED 1919. DEPOSIT WAS EXAMINED AND SAMPLED BY PIERCE IN 1943. RECORD 060/ ORE ZONE FOLLOWS THE BEDDING OF A FINELY LAMINAT RECORD 070/ COBALT IS ADSORBED ON CRYPTOMELANE AND WAS DEPO BY GROUND WATER. ONE ORE SAMPLE CONTAINED 0.21% CO. LIMESTONE STRIKES NORTHEAST. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH DATA TO RECORD DEPOSIT DIMENSIONS OR MAX POTENTIALLY DISTURBED HOWEVER A 50 FT DRIFT FOLLOWS ORE ZONE STRIKE. ORE ZONE SEEMS TO PASS DOWNWARD AT 25FT DEPTH INTO COARSE CALCITE AND FOLLOWS BEDDING OF A FINELY LAMINATED LI LIMESTONE DIPS 60 DEG NW. A NEARBY DRILL HOLE PASSED THRU MN |
