Comments on the location information

  • MINOBRAS, 1976, p. A-3, lists location as R78W. This would be 6 miles east of Keystone mine. If that is a typo, and they meant R79W, then this could be that someone found hints of uranium at the Keystone mine, or slightly west of the mine (the mine is in sec. 22, the record in MINOBRAS says sec. 21.) At any rate, Keystone mine has never produced uranium. Therefore, these records must remain separate.

General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit DEPOSIT TYPE-PRECAMBRIAN METAMOR. "uranium occurrence in paragneiss"
General Unclear exactly what this pertains to. MINOBRAS, 1976, p. A-3, simply lists Keystone as the name, location as Sec. 21, 14N-78W, and comment "uranium occurrence in paragneiss".
General TYPE WORKING-SHAFT 365FT AND 5000FT DRIFTS. This same info is in Hausel, 1993, WGS PIC-32, p. 33 under the description for the Keystone Mine. But it is not clear that MINOBRAS is describing the Keystone mine or something in the vicinity.
