Comments on the production information

  • THE DEPOSIT WAS DISCOVERED IN 1927 AND HAS BEEN IN PRODUCTION SINCE 1973. DESIGN CAPACITY WAS REACHED IN 1975. ACCORDING TO THE INTERFAX REPORT DURING THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 17TH THROUGH THE 24TH, 1993, THE SARY-CHEKU DEPOSIT PRODUCES 400 TO 500 KILOGRAMS OF GOLD COMMODITY PER YEAR; AND THE ORE GRADES AT 0.1 GRAMS PER METRIC TON OF ORE.

Comments on the reserve resource information

  • THE SARY-CHEKU MINE ACCOUNTS FOR 1.0% OF TOTAL FORMER USSR PRODUCTION AND .4% OF USSR RESOURCES(GEOEXPLORERS). BASED ON INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE CONTRACTOR FOR THE UDOKAN DEPOSIT, THIS WOULD PUT RESOURCES AT SARY-CHEKU AT ABOUT 25 MMT. GRADE INFORMATION IS NOT AVAILABLE. ORE RESERVES ARE SUFFICIENT FOR A FURTHER 20 YEARS OF PRODUCTION OR MORE THAN 100 MILLION METRIC TONS. FUTURE ORE GRADES ARE EXPECTED TO BE STABLE. THE CUT-OFF GRADE IS 0.3 PERCENT COPPER FOR ORE THAT IS BENEFICIATED AND 0.2 PERCENT COPPER FOR LOW GRADE ORE THAT IS CURRENTLY STOCKPILED. APPROXIMATELY 14.7 MILLION METRIC TONS OF OXIDE ORE HAVE BEEN ACCUMULATED IN A STOCKPILE.
  • THE SARY-CHEKU MINE, WHICH IS ONE OF MANY MINES LOCATED WITHIN THE ALMALYKSKY COMPLEX, SHARES A TOTAL AVERAGE RESERVE WITH THESE OTHER MINES OF 1,300,000 TO 1,450,000 METRIC TONS OF COPPER ORE CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY 1,300,000 TO 1,400,000 METRIC TONS OF COPPER METAL.

Comments on other economic factors

  • ALL ORE IS DELIVERED BY RAIL TO THE ALMALIC COPPER CONCENTRATOR, WHICH IS 23 KILOMETERS AWAY.
