  • ADDRESS OF HEAD OFFICE: ALSTERTERRASSE 2 2 HAMBURG 36 WEST GERMANY THE HAMBURG SMELTING WORKS ARE COMPRISED OF TWO SMELTING PLANTS, TERMED THE EAST (OLD) AND NORTH (NEW) SMELTER. THE EAST SMELTER CONSISTS OF RAW MATERIAL HANDLING FACILITIES, A ROASTING PLANT, BLAST FURNACES, PIERCE-SMITH CONVERTERS, ANODE SHAFT MELTER AND CONTIMELT CONTINUOUS POLING FURNACE. THE NORTH SMELTER IS CONSISTS OF RAW MATERIAL HANDLING FACILITIES, A ROTARY KILN DRYER, A OUTOKUMPU FLASH SMELTING FURNACE, PIERCE-SMITH CONVERTERS, ANODE FURNACES, AND ANODE CASTING WHEEL. ACID PLANTS TREAT OFFGASES FROM BOTH SMELTING PLANTS. COMBINED CAPACITY OF THE SMELTERS IS 240,000 MTPA COPPER.
