  • THE HIGH GRADE MATERIAL OR PRIME SELECTION OF THE WORKINGS GOES DIRECTLY TO THE SURFACE WHERE IT IS CRUSHED, SAMPLED AND BAGGED FOR EXPORT. THE LESSER GRADE MATERIAL GOES TO THE VOLATILIZATION PLANT FOR TREATMENT. AT THE VOLIVAR MINE FOUR TYPES OF ORE ARE MINED: 1) A SMALL QUANTITY OF HIGH GRADE TIN ORE GOES DIRECTLY TO THE VINTO SMELTER, 2) COMPLEX ORE IS EXPORTED DIRECTLY TO CAPPER PASS, 3) LOW GRADE TIN ORE IS VOLATILIZED AT THE BOLIVAR PLANT AND THAT PRODUCT SHIPPED TO ORURO, AND 4) MILLING ORE WHICH GOES TO THE JICA CONCENTRATOR, FROM THERE THE TIN CONCENTRATE GOES TO VINTO THE ZINC AND LEAD-SILVER CONCEN- TRATES ARE EXPORTED.
