Deposit THE ENTIRE EVANS HEAD DEPOSIT CONSISTS OF 3 MAIN AREAS OF MINERALIZED ZONES. THE EVANS WEST DEPOSIT (BANDJALUNG NAT. PARK, GL 10), RICHMOND RIVER, AND ANOTHER MINERALIZED ZONE (AT LEAST TWO BEACHES) IN THE R.A.A.F. BOMBING RANGE. THE BROADWATER NAT. PK. AND SOME SMALLER PRIVATELY HELD LEASES NORTH OF EVANS HEAD ARE CONSIDERED TOO SMALL TO BE ECONOMIC. NO ACTUAL WALLROCK ALTERATION IS DOCUMENTED OR OBSERVED, AS THE MINERALIZED ZONES ARE LOCATED UNDER A SLIGHT OVERBURDEN OF SAND. SIGNIFICANT OPPOSITION TO MINING DEVELOPMENT. HOWEVER, KAISER ENGINEERS HAVE PROPOSED A 1984 STARTUP DATE AT EVANS HEAD.
