  • THE PINGGUO BAUXITE MINE WILL BE EXPANDED TO BECOME A COMPLEX WHICH CONSISTS OF MINING OPERATIONS, REFINERIES, AND SMELTERS UNDER ONE MANAGEMENT, THE PINGGUO ALUMINUM COMPANY, BY THE YEAR 1995. THE PINGGUO MINE IS ALREADY PRODUCING, AND THE FIRST STAGE OF THE PINGGUO ALUMINUM PLANT IS SCHEDULED TO START PRODUCTION IN 1994.

DISTRICT RESERVES, CONSISTING OF FIVE MINING AREAS, EXCEED ONE BILLION MT OF HIGH-GRADE (NO SPECIFIC % GIVEN) DIASPORIC BAUXITE. NO INFORMATION ON ORE BODY DIMENSIONS. TITANIUM IS PRODUCED AS A BYPRODUCT, THE ORE CONTAINS FROM 3 % TO 4 % TIO2. THE CONCENTRATOR PRODUCES 30,000 T/YR OF ILMENITE CONCENTRATES.
