General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit A 1993 FIELD CHECK OF THE AREA GIVEN BY SOUTHERN PACIFIC CO. (1964, P. 41) DID NOT IDENTIFY WORKINGS OR GEOLOGY THAT DEFINITELY MATCH THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS MINE, BUT IT MAY MAY BE SOMEWHERE IN THE GENERAL VICINITY BASED ON THE REPORTED GEOLOGY. CDMG REPORT 27 (1931, P. 273) REPORTS THE LOCATION AS SECTION 28, T. 10 N., R. 3 W., BUT THIS IS THE TOWN OF HINKLEY. CJMG V. 53 (1957, P. 641) DESCRIBES THIS PROPERTY AS 12 MILES WEST OF BARSTOW. THIS WOULD PLACE IT NEAR THE IRON MOUNTAINS, BUT METAMORPHIC AND PLUTONIC ROCKS ARE PREVALENT HERE, NOT THE ROCK TYPES REPORTED AT THE MINE SITE.
