Deposit 14,484,717 TONS OF SOFT, DARK RED, NON-BESSEMER AND HIGH PHO OUS ORE SHIPPED FROM EUREKA AND ASTEROID SHAFTS FROM 1890-19 MINES WERE WORKED BY SUB-LEVEL CAVING TO A DEPTH OF 3,500 FE THE MINES ARE NOW TERMED EXHAUSTED, BUT THE 3,591 FOOT DEEP SHAFT WAS BEING UTILIZED IN 1950 TO HOIST ORE PRODUCED FROM ANVIL-PALMS-KEEWEENAW GROUP.
