  • THE DEPOSIT OF CHIPROVTSI IS A HYDROTHERMAL VEIN TYPE CONTAINING PYRITE, ARSENOPYRITE, GALENA, SIDERITE, QUARTZ, AND CALCITE. DIVA SLATINA IS ALSO A HYDROTHERMAL VEIN-TYPE DEPOSIT CONTAINING PYRITE, ARSENOPYRITE, AND FREE GOLD. CRU REPORTS THAT THE GALENA AND SILVER ARE CONTAINED IN LENTICULAR SHAPES WHICH DIP TO THE SOUTH-WEST AT BETWEEN 30 AND 70 DEGREES.

  • THE METHOD OF UNDERGROUND MINING WAS NOT SPECIFIED. CRU REPORTED THAT THERE WAS LITTLE MECHANIZATION EMPLOYED AT CHIPROVSTI/DIVA SLATINA.
  • A BULK CONCENTRATE THAT CONTAINS 3031 G/MT OF GOLD AND 350 G/MT OF SILVER IS ALSO PRODUCED. ALTHOUGH CHIPROVSTI AND DIVA SLATINA ORES ARE CONCENTRATED IN THEIR RESPECTIVE MILLS, EACH MILLING OPERATION IS VIRTUALLY THE SAME. THE PRIMARY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO MILLS IS THAT DIVA SLATINA INCORPORATES GRAVITY SEPARATION TO RECOVER GOLD. ORE IS CRUSHED AND MILLED, TO 60% PASSING 8 MICRONS, BY TWO BALL MILLS OPERATING IN CLOSED CIRCUIT WITH TWO SPIRAL CLASSIFIERS. ROUGHER, CLEANER, RECLEANER, AND SCAVENGER FLOTATION IS IN MEKHANOBR MH-1100 PNEUMO-MECHANICAL CELLS. THE LEAD CONCENTRATE IS THICKENED AND FILTERED. TAILINGS FROM BOTH PLANTS ARE PUMPED TO A SLIMES DAM 8KM FROM THE MINES. CRU REPORTS THAT THE PLANT EMPLOYS 50 PEOPLE, WORKING A SINGLE SHIFT, 5 DAYS PER WEEK.
