Comments on the geologic information

  • DEPOSIT IS NOT STRICKLY A SEDIMENTARY DEPOSIT. SULFUR IS FORMED THROUGH THE DECOMPOSITION OF ANHYDRITE BY SULFATE- REDUCING ANAEROBIC BACTERIA. DEPTH TO THE MINERALIZED ZONE RANGES FROM 150 METERS TO 600 METERS.
  • ACTUAL "ROCK NAMES" WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE "LIST OF VALUES" FOR THIS FIELD. STARTING WITH RECORD 04 THESE ACTUAL "ROCK NANES" ARE; HALITE (SALT), ANHYDRITE, "ORE", WHICH IS DECOMPOSED/DECOMPOSING ANHYDRITE, WITH ELEMENTAL SULFUR BEING DEOPSITED WITHIN CAVITIES IN THE DECOMPOSED ANHYDRITE. THE FINAL ROCK, CALLED A "CAP ROCK" IS IN THIS CASE ANHYDRITE ALSO. SEE MINERALS DATA TABLE FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Comments on the reserve resource information

  • JANUARY 1982 INSITU RESOURCES, AT THE DEMONSTRATED-75% LEVEL AND AT THE INFERRED-50% LEVEL. DATA WAS PROVIDED FROM INFORMATION COLLECTED BY THE CONTRACTOR. FRASCH SULFUR RECOVERY IS APPROXIMATELY 75% WITH NO DILUTION. THIS DATA WAS USED ON THE UPDATED 1986 ETD. CURRENT INFORMATION ESTIMATES (1990) HAVE ELEVATED THE INSITU INFERRED-50% LEVEL RESOURCES TO THE RECOVERABLE DEMONSTRATED-75% LEVEL, HOWEVER NO EVALUATION HAS BEEN DONE ON THE RESOURCES AT THIS LEVEL.
  • THIS RESOURCE ESTIMATE WAS NOT USED IN THE 1986 UPDATE ETD. 1985 DATA WAS NOT RECEIVED UNTIL AFTER THE UPDATE WAS COMPLETED. NO PUBLISHED RESERVE-RESOURCES ESTIMATES EXIST FOR THIS OPERATION PRIOR TO 1985.
