| Environmental Factors | THERE WERE NO DISCHARGING ADITS OR SHAFTS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SITE. THE TAILINGS WERE VERY SHALLOW AND COMPLETELY REVEGETATED. OPHIR CREEK FLOWED INTERMITTENTLY BELOW THIS SITE. THE STREAM CHANNEL HAD BEEN HEAVILY PLACERED, AND THE WATER FLOW WAS OFTEN SUBSURFACE BELOW THE PLACER TAILINGS PILES IN THE VICINITY OF THIS SITE. NO OBSERVED RELEASES TO SURFACE WATER WERE DOCUMENTED DURING THIS INVESTIGATION. NO MAXIMUM CONTAMINANT LEVELS WERE EXCEEDED. THE STREAM SEDIMENT SAMPLES COLLECTED DOCUMENTED OBSERVED RELEASES OF ARSENIC, COPPER, AND MERCURY, WHICH WERE ATTRIBUTABLE TO THIS SITE. |
