Deposit J.C. KANROHAT LOCATED THE SIERRIA NEVADA CLAIM IN 1873. THREE ADITS WERE DRIVEN SOUTH AND INTERSECTED DOWNDIP PROJECTIONS OF THE TWO VEINS (90 FEET APART) MINED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RIDGE AT THE JEFFERSON AND PRUSSINA MINES. CONFUSION EXISTS IN THE LITERATURE STATING THAT THIS PROPERTY IS THE JEFFERSON MINE. IT IS NOT. IT IS SOMETIMES REFERRED TO AS THE NEW JEFFERSON MINE.
