Deposit MILL CONCENTRATOR CONSTRUCTION BEGAN IN 1959. FIRST PRODUCTION WAS IN 1962 FROM THE OPEN PIT OPERATION. THE UNDERGROUND OPERATION WAS PHASED IN SLOWLY, UNTIL COMPLETED IN 1970. SINCE 1976 ALL ORE PRODUCTION HAS BEEN FROM THE UNDERGROUND WORKINGS. THREE MINING METHODS ARE EMPLOYED SUBLEVEL STOPING, SUBLEVEL CAVING, AND SHRINKAGE STOPING. DILUTION IS HIGH-15%. TRANSPORT OF BROKEN ORE IS BY TRACKLESS LHD EQUIPMENT, WITH HAULAGE OF LESS THAN METERS TO THE ORE PASSES.
