General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit THE LATERITE DEPOSIT WAS PRODUCED BY THE WEATHERING OF ULTRAMAFIC ROCK AND COVERS ALMOST ALL THE GENTLE SLOPS AND PLAINS IN THE AREA. DEVELOPMENT OF THIS DEPOSIT WOULD REQUIRE SIGNIFICANT INFRASTRUCTURE, INCLUDING TOWN EXPANSION, ROADS, AND AUXILLIARY POWER-GENERATING FACILITIES. ORE WOULD PROBABLY BE TRANSPORTED BY RIVER BARGE 60 KM. TO THE COASTAL TOWN OF SAN JOSE, AND FROM THERE SHIPPED TO JAPAN (OR POSSIBLY THE U.S.) FOR SMELTING. ORE CONTAINS NEARLY 35% WATER. ALL GRADES AND TONNAGES ARE METRIC TONS.
