| Deposit | THE MINES ON THE SUNGEI BESI PROPERTY INCLUDE HANG FATT AND THE NO. 2, NO. 3/5, NO. 5 AND NO. 6 OPENCAST MINES, ALL OF WHICH ARE LOCATED WIHTIN A FEW KILOMETERS OF EACH OTHER. STOCKPILED ORE WAS 58,200 CUBIC YARDS IN 1977. TOTAL PRODUCTION FOR 1977/1978 WAS 1,917 METRIC TONS OF CONCENTRATE ASSAYING 72% TIN. THE AVERAGE COST PER KG IN 1977/1978 WAS $8.17. 1977 - 710 PERSONS ARE EMPLOYED. THE OPEN PIT QUARRY IS A MULTIPLE BENCH TYPE. ORE HAULAGE IS BY TRUCK AND CON- VEYOR BELT. THE CONCENTRATOR UTILIZES THE JIG AND TABLE METHOD OF EXTRACTION. 1963 - THE ESTIMATED PROVEN ORE RESERVES IN THE NO. 1 AND NO. 2 AREAS ARE SUFFICIENT TO GIVE A LIFE OF TEN YEARS. RECENT BORING MAY INCREASE THESE RESERVES. 1976 - DEVELOPMENT OF THE SOUTHERN SECTION OF THE NO. 2 MINE IS TAKING PLACE DUE TO THE DEPLETION OF THE NORTH AND CENTRAL SECTIONS. ORE RESERVES HAVE BEEN DOWNGRADED IN THE NO. 3/5 MINE. THE CRUDE ORE MINED AND MINE CAPACITY ARE 6,000 TONS/DAY. 9090 KG OF TIN CONCENTRATE ARE PRODUCED PER DAY. OPEN PIT EQUIPMENT INCLUDES: BLAST HOLE DRILLS, FRONT END LOADERS, CONTINUOUS EXCAVATORS, SHOVELS, GRADERS, DRAG- LINES, BULLDOZERS AND TRUCKS. ALLUVIAL MINING IS PERFORMED BY GRAVEL PUMPING. THE CONCENTRATOR CAPACITY IS 7,500 TONS ORE PER DAY. PRO- CESSING PROCEDURE INCLUDES FLOTATION, MAGNETIC EXTRACTION AND DRY CONCENTRATION. THE TIN OCCURS IN MASSIVE REPLACEMENT BODIES IN GRANITE AND LIMESTONE OF HYDROTHERMAL ORIGIN. |
