  • THE GENERAL LITHOLOGIES IN THE AREA ARE SLIGHTLY METAMORPHOSED VOLCANIC FLOWS AND DIORITE. THE METAVOLCANICS ARE PREDOMINATELY FRACTURED PORPHYRITIC ANDESITE. TWO PROMINENT TRENDS, NORTHEAST AND NORTHWEST, APPEAR IN THE FRACTURES, WHICH ARE THOUGHT TO BE THE CHANNEL WAYS FOR THE ORE FLUIDS. THE DIORITE IS CLASSIFIED AS A QUARTZ DIO- RITE. SPECIFIC DATA ON THE SIZE AND SHAPE OF THE DEPOSIT ARE UNAVAILABLE. THE MINERALIZATION IS IN TWO MODES: A) PORPHYRY COPPER AND B) GOLD-BEARING FISSURE FILLING.
