General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit THIS DEPOSIT IS A PART OF THE HEAVY MINERAL BEACH SAND CONCENTRATIONS FOUND IN MANY PLACES ALONG THE BRAZIL COAST. THIS PARTICULAR CONCENTRATION IS QUITE SMALL AND THERE ARE NO CURRENT PLANS FOR DEVELOPMENT. IF DEVELOPMENT WERE TO PROCEED IT WOULD BE ON A MUCH LARGER AREA AND COULD POSSIBLY INCLUDE THIS DEPOSIT AS A PART. ALTHOUGH IT IS UNLIKELY THAT THIS DEPOSIT WOULD EVER BE DEVELOPED BY ITSELF, COSTS WERE ESTIMATED FOR THE PURPOSE OF ANALYSIS (ASSUMED CAPACITY = 40,000 MTPY). THESE INCLUDE MINING COSTS OF $1.76 PER MT AND WET PLANT (GRAVITY) COSTS OF $1.79 PER MT. DRY PLANT (MAGNETIC) COSTS ARE ESTIMATED AT $10 PER MT OF WET PLANT CONCENTRATES. CAPITAL COSTS ARE ESTIMATED AS: DEVELOPMENT - $50,000, MINE EQUIPMENT - $208,000, WET PLANT - $268,000, AND WORKING CAPITAL - $24,000. COSTS ARE IN TERMS OF 1982 US$. THE DRY PLANT CONCENTRATES WOULD BE SOLD TO AN EXISTING HYDROMETALLURGICAL PLANT, IN SAO PAULO.
