Comments on the production information

  • FIFTY PERCENT OF PRODUCTION IS DIVERTED TO ALUMINIJ MOSTAR. THE REMAINING 50 PERCENT IS SHARED BETWEEN THE TGA BORIS KIDRIC REFINERY AND THE ENERGOINVEST BIRAC REFINERY AT ZVORNIK. THE PERCENTAGE SPLIT BETWEEN THE TWO REFINERYS IS UNKNOWN. ORE IS SAID TO BE BOTH METALLURGICAL AND CEMENT GRADES. NO ORE IS EXPORTED OUT OF THE COUNTRY.

Comments on the reserve resource information

  • CERNA STATES THAT 1991 ANNUAL ORE CAPACITY IS 300,000 METRIC TONS. SOME BENTONITE PRODUCTION TAKES PLACE, ABOUT 20,000 METRIC TONS PER YEAR, AND SOME MINOR AMOUNTS OF SILICA ARE ALSO BEING PRODUCED. MINE IDLE DUE TO CIVIL WAR.
  • ORE DEVELOPMENT IS AT A SLOWER RATE THAN DEPLETION, BASED ON A STATEMENT THAT A "CONSIDERABLE" NUMBER OF YEARS OF PRODUCTION REMAINS.
